Grassroots Projects is a purpose-driven organization, wholly owned, operated, and staffed by First peoples, committed to the well-being and empowerment of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and communities. Our team of dedicated Allied Health Professionals and Trainers deliver specialized services to participants within the Workforce Australia program.
About the Role
The position is only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people as we understand the cultural knowledge you possess is essential in supporting our clients.
You will provide trauma informed evaluation and intervention for a wide range of systemic barriers effecting clients accessing our service including but not limited to homelessness, domestic violence, mental health, and AOD.
Key duties
Using a client centered, strengths-based approach to providing professional interventions to Aboriginal & Torres Strait islander job seekers with an outcomes focused Employment Service delivery framework.
Effective case management to plan, coordinate and monitor client’s progress
Support & advocacy with external support services, medical professionals and community agencies, this can include in-person support.
Provide accurate assessments and reports on participant progress to meet our contractual requirements
Engage with key stakeholders and develop strong relationships that drive successful partnerships
Proficient skills in using technology and systems
About You
Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
An approved Psychology degree with provisional or eligibility for provisional registration with AHPRA
Bachelor or equivalent Counselling or Social Work degree
A satisfactory criminal record (case by case as we do support people with lived experience)
A valid Australian Drivers License and access to own vehicle
Excellent ability relationship building ability from clients to key stake holders
You will be self-motivated, with excellent time management skills and have a willingness to demonstrate initiative
